I had the opportunity over the New Year’s weekend to visit with Wendy and Mike Goldstone, Innkeepers at the Church Hill Inn, Sister Bay in Door County, WI.  Since I was committed to the Lake Michigan Polar Plunge tomorrow as a member of the Jacksonport Polar Bear Club, I made reservations to stay at the Inn with my other plunging buddies.

When I arrived around 5pm, Wendy was serving Champagne to guests at their lobby bar.  I didn’t want to intrude while she was working and serving other guests, but I had the chance to introduce myself and chat briefly with her about Interim Innkeepers and their important place in the industry.  She was very friendly and supportive of my new business and explained how they function with their existing employees.  I asked her about their membership to the Wisconsin B&B Association that I noticed was dropped for 2010.  She kindly expressed her concerns that she had communicated to the Association and explained why they didn’t renew this year.    I asked Wendy if she would be so kind as to share my business information with other Innowners in their area.  She was happy to oblige and wished me the best.  Mike joined her a few minutes later and I introduced myself to him quickly before he went to fill another customers champagne glass.

Everyone seemed to be in a happy mood, waiting to start off the New Year in a very friendly environment with complimentary appetizers and champagne flowing freely in a nice gathering place.
